Ten Reasons Why Alden Is With The Neverseen

There is definitely a reason to worry. |
Hello everyone, and today I'll be telling you why I think Alden is evil. Warning: major spoilers for Keeper of the Lost Cities ahead.
There are several pieces of evidence I've been noticing as I reread the books. I tried to ignore them for a while because I didn't want it to be true. I don't like Alden anyway; he's super manipulative, and I'm not just saying that because of "The Talk". But the Vackers really don't need another traitor. However, I don't think I can ignore all this anymore.
- He’s the only one in his family that doesn’t have a bodyguard. And I would argue that's he's more important than Fitz and Biana.
- He’s the only one in his family who hasn’t joined the Black Swan yet, besides Alvar, of course. Why hasn't he done that yet, if his wife and kids have?
- He’s never had a face-to-face encounter with the Neverseen.
- He wouldn’t let them search his office.
- When he renovated Everglen he tore down everything except that office. What on earth is he hiding in there?
- He’s just always been really weird, all that “No reason to worry” stuff and just him in general. Plus, he's away a lot and often unreachable when Sophie tries to call him.
- He was one of the first to call off the search for Sophie and Dex when they were declared dead.
- In his registry file in Unlocked, his Spyball approval is 'denied'. This really stood out to me, I couldn't get it out of my head. Does the Council know something about him that we don't? It's extra weird because Wylie has Spyball approval and he's only a Regent, whereas Alden is an Emissary with the highest level of clearance.
- He said something weird in Flashback that made it sound like he was regretting something.
- And the most suspicious piece of evidence yet: in the very first book when they were talking about light leaping and all that stuff, Alden warned Fitz about fading and said “Maybe you’d be more serious about it if you’d seen someone fade away.” And he looked like he was ‘watching a memory’. But then he goes on to say that fading is extremely rare. IF IT’S EXTREMELY RARE HOW AND WHEN WOULD HE HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN. There’s only one answer. Cyrah. He was the one who killed Cyrah. Nobody ever ACTUALLY said it was Gethen. Sophie & Company just assumed. That’s why Prentice called swan song. That’s why the Neverseen interrogated Wylie. They wanted to make sure he hadn’t seen anything that day.
Thanks for listening to my top ten reasons why Alden is suspicious.
If you noticed anything else weird about Alden let me know o-o
