Women Who Dared Book Review
[PLEASE NOTE: this is an OLD post. Information in this post may no longer be accurate and/or be cringy 😑]
Are you a girl looking for inspiration? Motivation to do something awesome? Reassurance that nothing is just for boys?
Then I recommend Women Who Dared by Linda Skeers. Inside are 52 inspiring stories of rebels and and adventurers. And they’re all women. read about Rose Fortune, who was unofficially known as the first woman police officer in Canada. Annie Edson Taylor, who went over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Or the photographer Margaret Bourke-White, who would risk her life for the perfect shot.
A lot of people underestimate the power of women and girls. They think men are better at doing things. It’s been like this since ancient times – the men would hunt and fight while the women were expected to stay home, cook, and take care of the children.
The world shouldn’t be like this. I don’t know why it is. But women and girls all around the world are working to change it, and you can too. Girls rule!
